You answered your question...he 'doesn't want to give you his number' because he doesn't want you calling the house. Either HIS choice or his parents. If you have to ask, you're too young anyway. Just continue being 'long long time' friends. When he's ready for more..he'll let you know. Enjoy the friendship, don't ruin it by chasing him. Some guys really don't like aggressive girls. They want to be in charge. Respect yourself and let him have his time 'playin basketball n' stuff'. Sounds like he's more into the 'guy stuff' at the moment. Good things come to those who wait...

In my book, if he can't afford even a basic cell phone or an answering machine for the house phone, he can't afford you as a girlfriend! Also, if he knows you are so interested in him and makes so little effort to keep in touch; I wonder how interestred he really is.

There's nothing you can do. If he wanted a phone than he would have a phone. I say just let him have his space and do him. You don't want to come off as this controlling chick. Men hate that. Let him chase you. Sounds good to me.

Take 2 aspirin and call him in the morning. Seriously, he might not be as smitten as you think. That sounds like a lame excuse. He might be trying to tell you something in a nice way.

do you know people actually managed to build and sustain relationships before there were phones??? so it may be more time consuming than with one, but more personal & romantic too. you just need to make a bit more effort, once things have progressed he will probably get one to be in touch with you more!! obviously he hasnt had the need for one-till now!!!

well, till he finally gets a phone..tell him to call you whenever he's at home. And if he really likes you, it's a great excuse for him to come see you often
