This is going to be a lengthy one...

I've been friends with this one lady since we were in late elementary school. We were best friends for a bit before she found out that I had developed a romantic interest in her that helped strain our relationship. That was six years ago and we're back on good terms with each other now. We have a lot in common, but are different enough to keep things interesting. We know each other extremely well. For example, we can tell when the other person is lying or covering something up, even when chatting online. At one point we both said that we wouldn't work. I'm not so sure of that anymore. So my question is: Is it possible to know someone too well to have a relationship with them? I'd appreciate it if you explain your answer. Thanks in advance.

I like a guy who is enough like me that he understands me pretty good, and yet different enough that we find each other interesting and amusing. We're not bored with each other. If you two are just friends/buddies, there won't be a romance between you. But if you each bring out the "animal behavior" in each other.........such as a little bit of lust mingled with a lot of love, then you may be right for each other. If you want the romance to come alive between you, then don't treat her like a pal. Instead, notice something about her that you like and compliment her on it. When it's her birthday, a friend would gift her with something like a helmet to wear when she goes biking. But if you have a romantic interest in her, you'd give her an exquisite necklace, plus flowers and the helmet. Do you see the difference between how you treat a friend and how you treat a girl that you want to date? There is so much more that I could say on this subject, but I hope that I have given you a starting point to consider.

Just keep it casual. Thats what you guys have been doing. Make sure that when you make your move, it sounds like its totally just a thought and not this drawn out plan since elementary. Heres my advice. Just hang out like you usually do (i dunno if thats text/at a house/ or school for you) and just say "Hey, wanna come with me to the movies (insert desired time here". Maybe movies isn't your thing, try going places to eat, parks, amusement stuff. Whatever you both enjoy. Just make sure to have fun. Afterwards make sure she knows your intentions towards the end of the day by saying 'Listen i had alot of fun with you today, i hope we can do it again (insert desired time/or say sometime soon). Im sure she'll say yes. BTW, you can never know someone to long for a relationship, just your method of approaching it changes :) good luck

absolutely not. the best relationships are built by being friends you have to have a friendship with your lover. if you don't and cant have fun with them the way you can with a friend it is not a relationship. now look on the down side she will always no when your lieing so don't be typical and try to stray cause you will be caught .lol. no really go for it i think it will be great. but is there love too? if that's missing a relationship cant stand on a friend ship alone.
