The Rock at Rockefeller Center is better than the Empire State... Google "The Rock at Rockefeller Center" and it should direct you to the web site, where you can buy tix... you will need to specify the time you want to visit... I suggest around 7pm, so you can watch the sun set... (if you are going in the summer)...

The Statue of Liberty area is so much more than the Statue. You can see up inside it and also go to Ellis Island, which is very cool. You should have plenty of time to do both the helicopter and other things, too. The Statue of Liberty can be done by 3:00 to leave other things fror the afternoon/evening. Going in from the Jersey side in Liberty State Park is quite a bit faster than through Manhattan, but it takes time to get there as well.

empire state building u can either wait online and buy tickets and go up, usually an hour wait. Or you can purchase express tickets and then come back to cut the line and go upstairs.

u need to go down to south street seaport to purchase tickets for statue of liberty, o r u can ride the staten island ferry for free and go by it, but it does not stop on the island.

sunday is a good day to go bc mostly toursits will be at the empire state building and u would be in the middle ot everyday hussle and bussle.

Not sure on the empire state building but you access the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island from Liberty State Park on the New Jersey side of the river. This is where you need to go to buy your tickets for the ferry. Just the view from the park itself is nice. It is also a good place to go and catch a water taxi across to downtown NYC without having to drive into NYC.
