There is a weekly shot given for about a year that doctors use to treat Hepatitis C. It is a type of chemo-therapy. Sometimes it'll cure you, sometimes it won't. My neighbor had Hepatitis C and had the weekly shots for a year, she is now just fine.

oApproximately 20-30% of people's bodies get rid of HepC thru their own immune system. There are meds you can get from a gasteroentologist that can help immensely and aproximately 40% maybe more will rid their bodies of the virus. Even if your body gets rid of the virus, your body will always show antibodies to the HepC showing you have been infected at sometime. I am not sure of the exact numbers concerning this matter but your body can rid itself of the disease. If you take meds and show no virus, only antibodies after one year, your body will most likely stay clear of the virus. There is hope. The important thing is to no longer have behaviors that make you at risk if your body does clear the virus. I would think the sooner you get treatment the better chance your body can clear the virus.

I have had this chronic disease for at least 10 years( active, with cirrhosis.) To my knowledge there is No known cure,altho, some people have "beat it" with a variety of applications. Not one sure cure. It is a highly misunderstood disease that has the potential to reach epidemic proportions.
