My daughter got her first chunky set of legos for her 2nd birthday, she loves them. She gets to build with them and they do not fall apart like blocks do. It was one of the best gifts she received. We also got a baby bratz mermaid....we like it in the tub and in the pool.

I like gifts that are traditional and make a kid think and move. My two year old loves plain building blocks and those pound-a-peg toys. Also, anything bubble related is great: a bubble machine or the lawnmower someone else mentioned sounds good. Little Radio Flyer wagons are a lot of fun, and tricycles, if she doesn't already have those. Play shopping carts with play good to go with are also a hit. Hope this helps.

2 year old girls are so fun! They are learning and growing and exploring all kinds of things. Dolls with bottles and clothes are good. But I found an awesome Leap Frog toy that my 2 year old just loves ~ link below. It is called Fridge Phonics. It allows them to see the letters in big bright colors, says the letter out loud, and plays the alphabet song. You can get it at most local stores. I would check with your cousins mom and see what are her favorite kinds of things to play with as kids all have different taste at this age ~ but leap frog is a winner every time.

For Christmas, we got my 2-yr-old nieces baby Disney Princess bathtub dolls. The name is pretty self-explanatory. It's a normal doll, a baby that looks like Cinderella or Belle, that is made specifically for bathtime. Both moms said they love it.
Also, a stuffed Lily from leap frog is educational and cute. A pair of pajamas with her favorite character, books, a Blues Clues or other video, some dress-up clothes (no jewelry, though, to avoid choking hazards). Some baby doll accessories like a stroller, infant seat, bed, clothes, etc. Clothes or shoes. Bath toys. Crayola art supplies (age appropriate). A play kitchen, or other pretending toys. A Play-doh set.

A plastic swimming pool.
Measuring cups, sand, rice, and a bowl! My toddler's favorite toys =)
Fruit Juice (99%) Pop Sicles are great, especially this time of year.
A soft ball to throw, in pretty colors, pink, red. My son likes his rainbow hacky sack, that thing is in his mouth more than anywhere else (eek! Good thing I know it's washable!)
Or, call mom, and ask if she would like a Giftcard somewhere towards a big purchase.. I already e-mailed my family, told them "Petco Gift Certs or checks/cash to go towards a Fish Tank - size and type will be determined by total gift amounts."

My daughter turned two in May, so I hope this helps. We got her a plastic tea set (we have little tea parties with lemonade and chocolate chip cookies), some Disney Princess dolls, the Enchanted DVD, and a couple Webkins. Of course, my mom and I also bought her some new clothes and some Jibitz for her crocks.

i have a 2 yr old. they love bubbles i recently bought a bubble machine, big wheels they have different kinds that lights up and make noises like princess or just pink ones, 3 wheel scooter for beginners these come in girl colors as well, know for inside toys, baby dolls, doodle doll (she can color it and mom can throw it washer and she can color again) magna doodle kids love these, look down the toddler aisle in the store and you should find something that you think she might like and look all toys have age recommendations on them. im sure you will find the right gift and she will love it.

i always give books. they make great presents and kids can read them over and over. you can get a classic or something you particularly liked as a child or somehting about what she particularly enjoys. you can get a few for $30, or spend a little less. board books are good for that age so they won't get ruined. they are usually under $10. if she doesn't have many books yet -- it's a great thing to give. if she already has a bunch -- she probably would enjoy more. you can't go wrong!

Books! Anything with bright colors, rhyming, learning colors, numbers, or shapes. No, it's not too early for this. My daughter is 23 months and can count to five on her own, knows three colors, and three shapes all due to books. I recommend Sandra Boynton and Julie Agnar- Clark as authors.
