Just wondering. It seems like a lot of people go days without bathing their child. Am I weird for bathing my 2 year old every day?

My daughter never had a problem with dry skin and I bathed her every day from birth (is it just me or do breastfed babies have better skin?)

She did however, spit up a LOT due to an under-developled digestive system. Bathing daily was a MUST.

NO! You're not weird! l bathe my toddler at least once a day, twice if he got really dirty, when he was a baby it was twice a day. The thought of people going days without bathing their kids grosses me out! How would they like it?

I have a 4 month old who has very sensitive skin. I sponge bathe his "hot spots", hands, neck creases, face, etc, twice a day with hypo allergenic soap and give him a full bath once or twice a week depending on how oily his hair is and how cold the air is (in winter I bathed once a week). If he has a nasty bm I also follow with a bath. My other son bathed almost daily once he started walking and eating simply because he was a dirt magnet! He enjoyed bath time before bed. This was part of our bedtime routine.

well i use to do the same am my little gal developed like really bad dry skin and the doc suggested that i not bath her everyday and if i had to, to not use soap all the time and just use water. if you baby doesn't have any problems like dried out skin i guess go for it, but if i didn't bath her everyday i would not go over 1 day w/o bathing her and the day that i do not bath her i would wipe her down but for now she is a couple weeks from a year old so i would imagine that at two i will need to bath her everyday. (forgot that you said she/he was 2 until i was ready to wrap my long a** answer up) i would go according to how much mess they get into if they look like they need it everyday then do it but days????? aw hells naw maybe 1 that's it! das nassy!

NO. 2 year olds can't get really dirty during the day. When my little girl was a baby I could bath her every other day but as soon as she became a toddler she needed a daily bath.

No, you are not weird! I have 5,3, and 2 year old boys, so a bath (especially in the summer) is usually daily. It really depends though on what happened that day...if we stayed in all day I will let it slide a day, or if they are sick or something. The longest I've gone for my boys is a couple days in between baths, but like I said, it just depends. Of course, summer is daily because we play so hard and get soooooo dirty!

My doctor says it isn't good for a baby or even a toddler to be bathed every day. There are oils that help keep their skin moist and hair healthy that are essential. The doctor said every other to every third. But no longer than every third. Personally my son gets way to dirty playing some times for me not to give him a bath every day. But I try to hold off when I can.

i have allot of friends who act like i am a freak for bathing my 2 year old every night. i don't think it is bad at that age to bath your child every other night but some of them only do it once a week!! now when he was a infant i only bathed him a couple times a week it is bad for there skin at that age to bath them every day or so i was told and when they aren't crawling or walking around they don't need it as much. i really think it is a great way to help them sleep and believe me i need that with my son. and besides when bath time is shortly after dinner it it ok if they get spaghetti in there hair lol

for a 2y.o. it is perfectly normal to bathe everyday. My two year old needs a bath after dinner. She loves to wear more than she eats, not to mention, now we spend our days outdoors and the kids come in covered in mud and smell like sweat and dirt. For a newborn though, it is ok not to bathe them everyday, just wipe them down with a washcloth(or babywipe) in the diaper region and if the baby spits up milk around the face and neck. For a hyperactive child, bathing is a must.

I give my 6 month a bath every other day because he has (exama) i dont know how to spell it, but from what i know if you give a BABY a bath everyday it dries out their skin but a 2 year old is okay to take a bath everyday.

I bathe my son EVERYDAY.He'll be 2 in August and he attends daycare monday-friday and I bathe him monday-friday.If we go out during the weekend then he'll get a bath, If we stay home then I don't bother.I bathe him everynight to wash away the days germs. And not mention he passes out within minutes of being ready for bed.It teaches your kids good hygiene at an early age so when they get old enough to do it themselves you'll know it's getting done. That "not often" method is just crazy talk! KEEP DOIN' WHAT YA DOIN'!
