Should I fill up my tank all the way or only halfway? Does gas waste faster when the tank is full? What should I do?

If prices are dropping, go for a 1/2 tank. If prices are rising or you find a low price in an area, fill up. The gas mileage difference is not enough to worry about!

-I've done this ever since I'm driving.
Fill up when you're at half a tank. This way if you get bad gas, you can still drive and when it gets down to 3/4, buy some hi test. That usually works.,
If you drive until you're almost at E and get bad gas, you have problems.
A half tank is about 6=7 gallons, and at 8 lbs per gal, a half tank is only 65 lbs. Not enough to make a difference.

You can get bad gas if you buy right after thetanker is there, when they drop te load, all thecrud on thebottomof the tank is stirred up and takes a bit to drop.

A full gas tank means more total weight for the vehicle to pull, so theoretically a half tank would mean better mileage, but unless you have a huge gas tank the difference would be negligible, to say the least. Filling it halfway means that you will stop twice as often to fill it, which could mean idling time if you have to wait for a pump, which kills mileage.

Depends where your going.A half a tank just might leave you stranded in the middle of no where.
