You don't mention the reason, but if for depression related to bipolar disorder please check out the medication guidelines at http://www.bpkids.org/site/PageServer?pagename=com_index_28#treatment
These are intended for ages 6-17, but likely have useful information nonetheless.

I have just searched in my handy-dandy meds book and I am
going to proceed cautiously. This is a heavy duty drug and I
sure hope you had thorough exams and reasons for it being
prescribed. You need a 2nd opinion from a qualified doctor
that handles your specific disease. I will not mention the
disease because this is highly personal.
I will refer you to a great book that gives lots of information,
including all known side-effects. You will usually find it close
to the Pharmacy at any large drug store. It's called:
THE PILL BOOK and is published by Bantam Books in the
U.S. It costs about $7.00.
I would recommend this book for anyone using prescription
medications. P.S. Get the 12th edition, which is the latest.

What kind of side effects? Tremor, fatigue, weight gain, what?
I've tried Geodon, but it gave me heart arrythmias. I took Zyprexa, but I gained 50 lbs on it. I haven't taken risperdone.
I'm back on Seroquel, and am happy with it.
Talk to your psychiatrist about your options.
