There was a couple of skirmish's in Europe during the period so the British Empire was left in control of N.America. Gama wasn't the first to find the continent, the Scandinavians are claimed to have found it a few hundred years before. The fact that Columbus actually had a map to get there leaves the question open to who made it.
Driving on the left hand side of the road is an anchor ism going back to the days of knights and lances, swords which they held in there right hands so they would pass the enemy on the left. You'll find that Japan is the same, so being and Island its stuck for good.
I wouldn't put it that you hate the Europeans but one would suggest that after a few century's you are your own people whether descended from Europeans or not.
I can only assume your poor command of the English language and the fact you think Gama was first your descended from a Latin country. However, your almost a naturalized American and i would suggest a career in the movie industry where you can change history to suit America, we haven't had a Latin capturing the Enigma machine yet, and who knows we could base west side story on the deck of the titanic just before its torpedoed by a British submarine.

You don't know much history, do you?
America was first landed on by Critoforo Colombo (Italian spelling because he WAS Italian!), but it turned out that he had not landed on the main land, but on the Carabeic islands in what is today Central America. Amerigo Vespucci landed on the East Coast and gave the name to the new Continent.
After this initial Italian influence, starting from the East Coast and moving westwards, America was colonized by English, French and Dutch Pilgrims. (Yes, Ducth too! So much so thta New York old name was New Amsterdam!). The French moved mainly towards the South, that's why cities such as New Orleans have a French spelling (Orleans is a city not far from PAris, in France). Internal struggles started, but the English Pilgrims had the better of the others and colonized the most of the New Continent. A part from a few regions: Canada is still today bi-langual, parts of the United States of the South kept testimonies of the French Languages here and there and, of course, the States closer to Central America speak Spanish and English (but someone only speaks Spanish), as these territories have been disputed for quite a long time....
After unification, which happened in the 18th century, following the War of Independence [The United States declared its independence in 1776 and defeated Great Britain with help from France in the American Revolutionary War], there was a long Civil War between the States of the South and those of the North, the main conflict reason being slavery: The Northern Countries (mainly industrial) wanted to abolish it, whereas the Southern States, mainly relying on agriculture, wanted to keep the cheap labour for their benefit...The civil war ended in 1865 with the victory of the North...
After that US history is quite complicated. In a few words, after the 1st and 2nd World wars, a lot of Europeans (epecially Jews, Eastern Europeans, Germans and Italians) migrated to the US trying to find their luck. This is the reason of the many cultural influences that you can observe in today's USA.
I suggest you read the summary of US history written in Wikipedia as they did a good job!

After we gained our independence, why would we pick another language? Everyone in America was born and raised speaking English; were we supposed to just start speaking Chinese out of the blue? You are completely wrong about today’s generation being a hybrid of Europeans. Immigrants from all around the world traveled to America to gain independence. Also who said America hates Europe? I don’t run into many people ranting and raving about their disdain for the European people lol. As for doing everything opposite, what else do we do besides driving on the wrong side of the road; which I doubt was done just to piss Europe off. Really if you going to make all this ridiculous accusations you really need to brush up on your history first.

The official language of the US is English because the English beat the Spanish and the French in wars to become the predominant colonial force in this portion of North America. Then the colonists revolted against the English to form an independent nation with its own customs and norms. As such, the US culture developed independently of Europe - in every way. This is why US culture differs, on some points, from its European ancestors.
Quick notes: Not all US citizens/residents are hybrids of Europeans. Not all US citizens/residents hate Eurpoeans.
It may help to learn some basic US history (especially since so much of it is also European history....)

You need to learn more about the history of the Americas. Your facts are mixed up, though partially correct. I'm not going to give you a history lesson and I'm not going to try to explain to you the many areas of confusion and ignorance your question demonstrates. Just go find some good sources of "American" history and European history as well as the exploration and comquering of the Americas. Then come back and we'll talk. But that will be a few years from now when you've grown up a lot . Good luck.

Vasco de Gama did not discover America. He found the route to India by going around Africa.

I think it's because the English were among the first - and certainly the most dominant - permanent settlers of modern-day America.

If you want to learn a new language, go ahead. Besides, it's not like you write it very well anyway.
