i'm 16 and about a year ago or so i rededicated my life back to God after being lost without Him for about 5 years or so. recently i have been feeling down and emotionally unstable about me and certain things in my life. i also realized how negative i was towards a few things this past school year. i took it for granted. i feel guilt and regret knowing that i could have handled it better.

i know in these teen years, it is normal to feel angst but sometimes i can not handle it. i need guidance from God. i feel like i'm slipping and i don't want to fall back.

i'm asking on here because i find it so difficult to talk with my friends and family about this, no matter how close i am to them. it is even hard here for me to just write this. i just need someone who will listen and understand.

thank you so much. God bless.

What do you really have to worry about? Do you think that "school issues" and childhood friends really make any kind of impact in your future life? You need to figure out you future and start planning for it: children, career, or jail. People ask God for money, emotional help, and everything else they are not motivated to work for. I understand puberty and being young, just as all adults do. Get focused on something positive and stick with it, everything else you desire will follow after you start taking action. The worst thing you can do is sit around feeling sorry for yourself because it will only destroy your self esteem.

Keep the Lord close to you. He brought you through your trials so He can get the glory out of your life. As far as your feelings go you can hold fast to the truth: that God has your back, and He has a way of helping you when you feel down (Proverbs 3:26; Prov. 14:26; Isaiah 26:3; Phillipians 4:8). Keep standing on the Rock, Jesus Christ.

Will do: God bless you. I try reading scriptures mostly the new testament when I have that problem. I have found that getting to know Jesus better always helps. You can somewhere find what he would do or what he had to say about the problem you are facing. And if not you can get Ideas from the Holy Ghost if you listen with your heart.

Jesus loves you more than you could ever love yourself. Just repent to Him and ask Him for direction and guidance. He will answer you . Sometimes when I'm really down , I fast for three days and seek God intensively and He answers me fast. Fasting makes you spiritually strong and allows you to hear the voice of God very clearly.
My son Daniel is 12 and he just looked over my shoulder and read your story and he told me to tell you ,that he would pray for you.
Start reading your bible every day and before you do ,pray and ask God to reveal to you , what he wants you to receive.
Things will soon look up for you, you'll see.
I will keep you in my prayers. God bless you , honey !

Just the fact that you have God in your life at 16 is wonderful. Continue to pray and attend church those things will keep you moving forward. Do you feel comfortable talking with your preacher? He will not tell anyone what you are going thru if you don't want him to. Or if you have a youth minister talk with him or his wife. There are usually always people in your church you can turn to and trust not to tell your feelings to your parents. Keep on keeping on and I will deffinatly say a prayer for you tonight.

What you're describing sounds pretty normal for 16. If it gets to feeling overwhelming you should talk to your folks, and a therapist or your Dr. It's difficult to deal with all the pressures of family and school, and the changes of adolescence. Don't be too hard on yourself, and bog yourself down with guilt.

I understand how you feel. Im a teen too. I get really upset, and deppressed as well. I have a lot of family problems and problems in school to deal with. You seem to be going on the right track. Dont let no one stop you. If you feel like you have a lot of problems....try solving those problems....one...at..a time. Get sometime to yourself, and think how you plan on solving those problems. Just try not to do it all at once....otherwise you may end up becoming and emotional wreck. Just have patience....and faith....things wont be perfect.....but eventually....in time....it WILL get better......

please take care........

Heavenly Father, I lift my sister in Christ up to you. You know that she wants to serve you...but like the Apostle Paul, she does what she doesn't want to do and doesn't do what she wants to do. You know her heart. Let her know that You have promised to never leave or forsake her and You will walk beside her all the way, everyday. In Jesus name. Amen.

Read Philippians 4:4-13 & 19. That gives you some things to start on. Feel free to e-mail me whenever you need someone to talk to.

Blessings,

Okay,
God help our sister in this difficult time in her life. You know her inside and out. You are as close as her breath. Help her to feel your arms around her now. Help her to not depend on her feelings, as her emotions right now are washing over her like a tide, threatening to wash her away. Lord bring steadiness into her life. Be her rock and strength this time in her life is a test, so test gently Lord, test gently.
In the name and through the power of Christ, so be it.

You now speak confidently, You are protected, guided, and loved. There is nothing to be afraid of, nothing that will make you ashamed. You love freely, and you are freely loved, for you are a child of God.

In the dark nights of your life, Just say,
"I am a child of God.
I am a child of God,
I am a child of the most High God."

The light of God surrounds you,
The love of God enfolds you
The power of God protects you
And the presence of God watches over you. Wherever you are, God is, and all is well!
