I am a filmmaker and I would like to use some birds in one scene, and I need to catch some. I will use them in the morning and let them free.

Unfortunately, you'll need a state and maybe federal permit to do this if you're in the US. I formerly worked at a bird banding station as a volunteer, and that's the type of regulations we had to follow even though all birds were released, usually within 45 min - 1 hour of capture.

I would suggest seeing if there's a bird banding station near you, or contact the game/wildlife office nearest you to find out what you need (and possibly some assistance). These people know how to handle birds, and might be able to bring some to be released.

See the "links to other banding sites" link on this webpage: http://www.pwrc.usgs.gov/bbl/
