I use herbs for everything you can imagine. I cook with them, use them in sachets, magic, herb pillows and much much more.

Some of my favorite ones for growing include Lavender, but don't eat it because most versions are poison when ate, but they make wonderful dream pillows and sachets.

I love lemon grass and all the normal cooking spice herbs. Alfalfa is great to grow to eat and works wonders in money magic.

If you really want to learn more about them, there is a course at Witch School that is very detailed about growing all sorts of plants, their medicinal and magical uses and much more.

Hope this helps!

I use mine for rituals, spells, cooking and just anything I can think of including decorating my home. There are lots of good books on the subject and spell books of all kinds that have herb lore. I also use them for insect control in the garden and in the home. i also try to grow most of everything that I eat so I do a large veggie garden as well. Don't forget to welcome the wee folk to your herb garden as well. I find that their presence increases the spell and ritual power of your home grown herbs. Good luck. Blessed Be.

I use them in both. There are some good books out there on the subject. Some of my favs are coriander/ cilantro, basil, rosemary. i don't recommend planting medicinal herbs in a regular garden because many can be toxic both to humans and pets. I have a separate place for them. Also some plants you may have in your gardens already can be toxic. Lily of the valley, foxglove are just two examples. You will also discover that there are plants we see as weeds that have medicinal and craft purposes.
Blessings!

Most of the herb use I do is in cooking. Cooking is a big part of our family life and so is a big part of our spiritual life. I also use them in spell-type work etc. Medicinal herbs should only be used if you have training.

I think every herb garden should include borage...as an edible it makes a nice addition to salads, or I have frozen them in ice cubes, they make a smart presentation. The flavor is like a mild cucumber. As for its use in the craft, well you can do your own research on that, but for good or ill, be careful. ;)

Of course we use them in cooking. There are also medicinal herbs, but we don't use them without first obtaining the proper training - some of them can be highly toxic and our one inflexible rule is "First, do no harm."
