I had braces for the last 2 years. I'm 17 now and had the braces removed and my face has grow longer but thinner over the course of the time that I had braces. As a result, my lower jaw is not in balance with the upper jaw. Will my face and jaw mature now that my braces have been removed?

I wouldn't expect that you should expect much change in the future. Your orthodontist should be able to answer your question as you will be having follow up visits with them in the near future. If you already have your retainer great, keep wearing it as recommended. If not, plan on using it alot to keep the teeth in alignment. Good luck!

No probably not. The jaw stops developing as you grow older. Call your orthodontist and tell them you are concerned with the alignment of your jaw.

This is a question you should discuss with your dentist and/or your doctor. Without knowing your medical history and other factors, no one here on Yahoo! Answers is qualified to make such a judgment.
