Good post Neeno.

I wonder where you got that info ..... LOL

But thats why I posted it, so people could use it.

As to your question:

It would all depend on what unit he was assigned to after his tour in Korea.

If he doesn't want to deploy to Iraq,

Then his best bet would be, to request assignment to a unit that is in Iraq now, after he finish's his tour.

That way they will get back from Iraq the same time your Husband PCS's out of Korea.

eventually he will get deployed. When he gets back from Korea, he will be moved to a different post. Once he's there he should, and should is the keyword, be there for a year because of the time on station requirement. That means that whenever some one PCS's they have to be at that duty station for a year before they can move or be deployed. Sometimes, however, they waive the time in station requirement because of deployments.

Good luck and Congrats!!
Being an Army wife is a tough job. Just be strong and be there for hime!

In Yongsan, very little chance. A typical Korean tour is one year, I was in Korea 98-99. Once he is redeployed stateside, it entirely depends on where he is stationed. MPs are one of the most often deployed military specialties, they are considered very versatile. As long as he is in Korea, he is pretty safe. Yongsan is a large garrison, the Eighth US Army, and it is doubtful they would deploy, as they as specific to that location, and are considered intrinsic to it.

a million) interior the AF they're referred to as protection Forces, once you're extra involved interior the LE(regulation enforcement) factor of it then be conscious that the SFs are shifting removed from LE and extra in direction of infantry roles, so shop that throughout ideas. 2) the fee of deployment for the two MPs and SFs is plenty larger than your standard MOS/AFSC; that stated, in case you prefer to connect the army you will extra effective come to words with the assumption of deploying precise now and shop your destiny NCO the complaining. 3) AF deployments are severely shorter, averaging between 4-6 months as damaging to the army standard of 12-15.

Army 169,000 33%
Marines 7,000 4%
Navy 86,000 25%
Air Force 67,000 20%

Forces with atleast two deployments: 390,000 28%

Army 150,000 29%
Navy 85,000 25%
Marines 65,000 36%
Air force 90,000 27%

The percentages will not add up to 100%

The number of forces in each branch, are best numbers available. The occupational specialty also plays a large role.

100%. EVERYBODY deploys at least once in their military career.

what people need to understand is that the word deploymnent does not automatically equal being sent to Iraq or Afghanistan. a deployment is any extended time period away from home base. we have people at GITMO, the Horn of Africa, Somalia, Darfur, Kosovo and elsewhere too.

My personal cut off is 4 months.. anything less, is a TAD/TDY/Underway. anything more..is a deployment.

it depends on what branch of military. if he is air force he will be home for a bit probably but he could come home get married and re-stationed stateside and then deployed. when we PCS'd we got here in december and my husband deployed in Apri. It just depends on where he is stationed, branch of military and what his unit/squadron is like

I have been to Iraq twice, 13 out of 18 months, to be exact, so yes, he can be deployed, and the chances are rather high.My detachment was getting ready to go back when I got out about a few months ago.

his chances are very high at this point. people are on their 3rd and 4th tour and back to back.

he may come home long enough for a wedding, but don't plan a honeymoon.
