Nothingusefull, you are putting the cart before the horse. You cannot sure up the Iraqi government if there is an endless flow of resources coming into the theater to stop you and effect your mission. The poster is correct. If you do not secure the borders then there is no way of winning this war because the enemy has geographical and numerical superioity.
It's really just common sense and very basic ,military tactics,

Yeah, the US military has just been starved of funds, hasn't it? Does your name describe the contents of your head?
"The reason why the troops are there is to protect the Iraqui Government and Iraqui people long enough for them to get organized, get their act together, and start acting like a nation instead of a bunch of terrorists, which they were doing under Saddam."
Possibly the stupidest justification for a military deployment I've ever heard. What sort of moron would have supported the war if this was the justification put up in the first place? Does it make it any better than this was the excuse developed after three years of failure? What a great cause to ask US troops to die for!

no man. lets learn from previous lessons. what happened last time president bush tried to send more troops to iraq? everybody pitched a huge *****. so sending more would make no sense. i agree we cannot win the war iraq because who are we fighting but her citizens? the iraqi government needs to step up and take action so that we can being to withdrawl. losing the war in iraq would mean that democracy has completely failed and the country is in total chaos and anarchy. that hasnt happened yet so i cant agree with you saying that we have already lost the war. also bush couldnt have gone to war without the majority of the congress behind him so should some of the blame shift to them. oh wait when it does they lie and say they were never for the war in the first place. hilary clinton

That's basically the reason why the U.S. is still there. That way when a Democrat wins in '08, he/she will take all of the blame for faliure once the U.S. pulls out.
And by the way, the war won't be won. The U.S. shouldn't plan on winning because it won't. The morale is down, the funding is down, and the insurgency is growing by the weeks. The United States should just pull out now before more U.S. soldiers are killed.

you can never secure Iraq or its borders casue you are perceived as invaders and occupiers by the popluace you think you have 'liberated' - so unless you kill every single iraqi you're not going to 'win' or 'secure borders' - just get the hell out - everyone will blame you anyway for the rest of time for a stupid war that should never have started

do no longer youngster your self with regard to the draft. That screwball in the White house is able to something in his lust for Iraqi oil. you could wager if he makes a decision to pass into Iran, there'll be a draft. we don't have sufficient militia to do it if we are busy blowing up Iraq. Then we can see in basic terms how lots of the "professional-war" jerks start up heading for Canada - or Mexico to ward off the draft. Who is conscious, Mexico might desire to be their next superb acquaintances.

Your conclusion is entirely erroneous. The reason why the troops are there is to protect the Iraqui Government and Iraqui people long enough for them to get organized, get their act together, and start acting like a nation instead of a bunch of terrorists, which they were doing under Saddam.

Unless we stop the flow of arms, munitions, insurgents, and money to al Qaeda and the insurgency, we will continue to piss in the wind. Have these fools learned nothing from WWII ?

Hmmm...If ya know theres not enough soldiers there..that could be fixed .......it would be a lot faster with a bigger military.....but thanks to Clinton...he reduced us to this with his military cuts.....
As far as losing there..... ........I have faith in our military....We will win....
