Call the place that your dog was taken to. Most pounds have to wait 7 days to make sure the owner doesnt come to claim the dog. Call them and explain the story and tell them you want your dog back. Take any pics you have of the dog or the dogs toy, pet bed, leash anything so the home knows that you really love the dog. If the dog is still there, they should have no problem giving the dog back to you. If he is gone they will usally try to contact whoever adopted him and explain the story and hopefully that would give the dog back. If it was just last night you should have no problem. I would contact the police and file a report of theft. He pretty much stole something of yours and gave it away. Hopefully your 'partner' is gone. Kick his A$$ to the curb if you didnt already. Good Luck and I hope you get your dog back.

I am so sorry 4 the fact that your mom had the nerve 2give Your animal away w/o considering your feelings. Honestly it makes me sick! U obviously have a bigger heart than her seeing how u r worried about the little girls feelings. I think your idea of offering a kitten w/ an explanation 2 the parents and little girl is a fab idea! Some people don't understand the impact on a person when losing an animal is in comparison 2 losing a family member. Whatever u choose 2 do, it will b the right choice! I truly am sorry 4 what your mom did 2 u.

I'm not sure waht you mean by Partner? Dump the so called Partner. He or she obviously doesn't care for you or your Daughter. If anyone treated me or my child like that, The're GONE!!! But Yes, report it to the POLICE. And get it back. It was THEFT & Receiving Stolen Property.

Who did your "partner" give the dog to? Get with that foster home and let them know that the dog wasn't just your partner's property. See if they will allow you the dog back to your possesion... now the next question is how will you keep your partner from doing this again?
and you need to ask yourself WHY WOULD HE DO THAT TO YOU & YOUR DAUGHTER????!!!!??? and then follow that with DO I REALLY WANT TO STAY WITH SOMEONE WHO WOULD BETRAY MY TRUST IN SUCH A MANNER??!!!!???

if he is chipped he is still legally your dog so i would go round wherever he has been given away too and ask for him back
if there are problems get the police involved and they should be able to get him back for you
as you also signed the adoption papers he is legally yours if he is microchipped to your address even better as that is a permanent id tying you too him
good luck
oh and get rid of your partner !

You need to contact the shelter and produce your proof that the dog is also yours. They will be required to give it back. Them go home and throw your partner out.

Yes you can go to them and explain, and take it up with the police too - you may want to rethink your choice of partner, or at least tell him one more stunt like that and he can give himself away.
