gums question and retainer question?

my gums are soar, y and how long will it take for the soarness to go away.
and is the retainer suppossed to sorta feel tight?

HELLO VICTORIA,
REGARDING THE SORE GUMS, THIS DEPENDS A LOT ON WHAT YOUR DENTIST DID, BUT IT SHOULD NOT BE MORE THAN A FEW DAYS.
THE RETAINER IS SUPPOSED TO FIT FIRMLY IN PLACE TO MAINTAIN THE BITE AFTER THE BRACES COME OFF.
