I have a set of twins that I am 99.9% sure belongs to a friend/lover of mine. He died one year ago now that I can't ask him for a DNA test how do I go about getting one?

Do you have any personal items that he used and nobody else used, for example a tooth brush, a razor blade or electric shaver, a hairbrush or a comb?

Occasionally you can get enough material for a DNA test from these items.

If you were not married to this person it may not matter, but if there is a lot of money at stake then the only way is probably going to be DNA. You could check medical records and see if by chance he donated blood or had tests done somewhere that they kept some samples or useful info.

I'm sorry to tell you this but i don't think you can get any DNA with that guy sorry but here is what i would do find a man that is very cute loves you and never treats you bad and loves kids and get married to him and then your twins will have a father okay? and i am sorry about the "dad" really but good luck finding the man of your dreams!

1. If you had a sample of hair from a hairbrush.

2. You could ask his parents to submit an specimen and
have a comparison study done against the children's DNA

3. I don't think SS is going to touch this one. A paternity
lawyer would be the best source of info.

Ask one of his one of his immediate family members for a sample of DNA. It will be the same identifying the immediate family members as a relative if the DNA does indeed match. I understand why you are trying to prove paternity for SS since you will need proof since the twins will draw survivor benefits from their father.

Well in order to get the sample, you will have to either find something that came from him (hair, blood etc) or have it dug up! unfortunately, unless the person is a criminal that committed a major crime, it is unlikely a dna reading is in a database somewhere. People really aren't keen on having a centralized repository with your genetic code.

SS has no reason to have his DNA, so that will be a dead end. If you have a toothbrush, hairbrush, or razor that he used, you may be in luck. You may be able to get these items from a fam member as well. If he was military, they will have his DNA on file.

I don't think SS will help you any. Can you get something from his family that may have his DNA on it. Something like a hairbrush maybe. This is far fetched and maybe I watch too much CSI, but it's a thought.

do you have a unused hair brush of his or some type of sample or did he have any blood test at the hospital if so find out from those.

also get dna from his perants because half of his fathers and mothers make up his and then check the genetic markers to yours and the kids.

do you have samples of hair or something else? If you go to your friend/lovers parent's they can do a grandparent test that's just like a paternity test.
