ok well heres the thing, i did care for it very well, only washing it with antibacterial soap, not scrubbing it, and i did keept it very moist. i did check out the tattoo artist first. he is a local in my town and so many people have gone to his place and all of their tattoos are amazing. i guess he just did not go deep enough with it. it was some what painful, but not too much and from what i hear the foot is subpost to be the most painful spot. it didnt really swell either. and i wear flip flops all year round, so it wasnt the matter of having it rubbed against. Oh well ill just get it redone soon. thanks for everyones help

Since it's so recent it's probably just that your artist didn't go deep enough and it just needs touched up. I had to have it done with one piece also. I've been to two different artists and discussed getting a foot tattoo and they both were pretty much against it saying they don't last because the foot gets so much wear and tear from shoes and your skin is different there. So if it's something colorful they will not last as long as other places. Also keep it moist (not soaked) but don't keep it covered like some people say. You also do NOT want to use vaseline or neosporin. Use A&D.

Whoever did the tattoo did not go deep enough and the colors were not permanent.

This may be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it: If its faded, then you can just get another one-perhaps a different design or color.

If it is not then you are stuck with going back and asking for a redo-but if it did not go good the first time, you may not get satisfaction the next time. But it won't hurt to ask for an experienced tattoo artist.

it sounds like one of two things, or maybe both.
1. how did you care for your tattoo? did you refrain from wearing shoes or socks for two whole weeks while it healed? if not then that is probably a huge reason why your tattoo looks bad. it is necessary for your feet to be able to heal properly and not wearing shoes is the way to do it. also it helps if you can elevate your foot for the first couple of days to allow better blood flow and to help with the swelling.
2. maybe your tattoo artist is just not good? some artists give horrible tattoos and you may have gone to one. if so, next time you need to check out the potential artists previous work.

Small Plumeria Tattoo

All tattoos, no matter where they are placed, or how well they are looked after will fade. Sorry. I look after mine very well and they very rarely see sun light, yet they are fading. My oldest is on my chest , just above my breasts and I got it in 1999. Its not really fading but the definition is definitely not what it used to be. Te edges are not as sharp and the colour is duller.

I applied Vaseline on my plumeria tattoo for a few days after I got it. Now- two years later the colors are still as beautiful and vibrant. (red & yellow center)

by having it redone, then when it is freshly done keep vaseline on it to keep it moist so this doesn't happen again, and maybe some gauze over it... to be sure ask the tattooist that is doing it.

did you keep it clean and hydrated.. if you didnt keep lotion and stuff on it ALL the time it will scab off... your gonna have to get it redone... most places will redo stuff like that pretty cheap but make sure you keep it hydrated all the time...

foot tattoos arent considered permanent. they fade easily because your foot is always exfoliating (sp?). i got mine done in july of last year and its pretty faded as well.
