my husband has two job offers, both at the same hourly wage, but one is 40 hrs a week and the other is 50-60hrs a week. we are kinda swayed by the thought of the extra overtime money, but we also have a special needs son and I am pregnant, so there are alot of family demands that he would be stressed by if he were working those hours.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO!!!!!

Times might get economically rougher soon. Take the job with opportunity to make more money. With two children, you are going to need the extra money. Always opt for the greatest economic advantage as a young family just starting out. Try to get AHEAD a little. That's the only way to ensure the safety and well-being of your family.

With the costs of living these days I would have him take the Overtime job. I know spending time with family is important but then again you dont want to be stressing out if you will be able to afford the newborn, make the mortgage payments etc. I say keep that Overtime job until maybe ur son gets a little bigger.

Well, then, take the 40 hour job, no ot, and you can have him to help a bit at home. He can always work somewhere else (stores) PT if needed extra money anyways. When the baby is born already and you can attend to the baby by your self, right?

If you are not in debt trouble, go for the less hours
You can learn to live on the less amount of money if you are not stressed out on overdue debt.
Life is short, Work to live not live to work
Both should enjoy what time they have with both kids while they can.

I would take the 40 hrs. Family is more important than money!
