Homosexuality is mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments as types of behavior that pervert a person's relationship with God.
God does not hate the person who sins. God hates the behavior because he hates anything that hinders his relationship with His creation, because he loves his creation so much.
Read the account of Lot as he was rescued by Abram in Genesis 19. Also read Romans 1:18-32.
Homosexuality is NOT beyond your control. It is your choice. Do not choose to make yourself a victim of your own genes. Take responsibility for who you are.
I agree with you that hatred of people is a sin, but, do not use the argument that "those mean Christians hate us" as your justification. It doesn't hold logically. In fact, it is ultimately just a deflection to try to cover the holes in your argument.
Is homosexuality a sin?
Yes.
Is hatred of other people a sin?
Yes.
Does either sin justify the other?
No.

The Bible continually tells us that gay interest is a sin (Genesis 19:a million-13; Leviticus 18:22; Romans a million:26-27; a million Corinthians 6:9). Romans a million:26-27 teaches especially that homosexuality is a effect of denying and disobeying God. while a individual keeps in sin and disbelief, the Bible tells us that God “provides them over” to much extra wicked and wicked sin with the intention to show them the futility and hopelessness of life different than for God. a million Corinthians 6:9 broadcasts that gay “offenders” won't inherit the dominion of God.

Here is a portion of an article from "GotQuestions.org" which is a great site to answer many questions regarding the Christian faith and religion...
"The Bible consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9). Romans 1:26-27 teaches specifically that homosexuality is a result of denying and disobeying God. When a person continues in sin and disbelief, the Bible tells us that God 'gives them over' to even more wicked and depraved sin in order to show them the futility and hopelessness of life apart from God. 1 Corinthians 6:9 proclaims that homosexual 'offenders' will not inherit the kingdom of God."
This is "me" back again. As for the "hatred of other human beings," please let me clarify once again that Christians do not hate other human beings, but we hate the SIN which they do... a.k.a. "hate the sin, not the sinner."
As for being "beyond their control," this is also covered by the article cited below... clarifying the Christian position that homosexuality is a choice. "BEING" a homosexual is not a sin, "doing" homosexual acts is a sin.
Hate, in and of itself is NOT a sin, it is an emotion, and emotions are amoral. Again, a good article from "GotQuestions" is cited below which can explain anger (hatred) and how it is not a sin.
I hope you can understand these concepts... whether or not you accept them or not is a different question. Simply try to understand where the Christian doctrines are coming from.
Oh... and we DO think for ourselves which is why we chose our Christian faith.

Leviticus 18:22
Leviticus 20:13
Romans 1:18-32
1 Corinthinas 6:9
Most people will misinterpret these Scriptures to be hateful, as the Bible is politically incorrect, so I will only give you a short recap in the softest way I can. Leviticus says "a man shall not lie with a man in the sexual sense; this is wrong". Romans talks about the sins of the ungodly. 1 Corinthians 6:9 lists a bunch of sins, and homosexuality is one of them.
I do not hate you. that is not what Christ wants. and it is the LIFESTYLE He dislikes, not the people. you're technically fine if you're gay by nature but not by lifestyle. urges do not make you a sinner. sin happens when you give into immoral desires. why is homosexuality wrong? it promotes many other sins and goes against God's will for proper sexual relationships.
hate is the absense of agape love. agape love seeks the highest good for a person, regardless of your opinion of them. God does not deny you Heaven for your hormones. you go to Hell because you die in sin. I would be not showing agape love if I never gave you a chance or tried to keep you out of the kingdom.
yes, hate is a sin. but hate is often misinterpretted.

1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexuals 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Homosexuality is listed along with many other "wicked" deeds or sin. It is not singled out as being a worst then the others, nor are Christians told to "hate" them. Rather the Bible extends to them the same hope of of salvation and deliverance from that lifestyle and desires as it offers to any other sinners.

You need to understand that God loves the individual, however, their behavior and life choice will lead them into bondage that will harden their hearts to God's eternal salvation. Because Homosexuality involves so much emotional investment, it is almost impossible to tell the them the truth without being labeled with very harsh epithets which you have done in your details. Doing so maginalizes us, and yet you claim not wanting to offend.
Remember, the sin of homosexuality is no blacker than my sin. And if the Christian truly hated homosexuals, they would keep the message of salvation to themselves, not try to change them, and let them go on their merry way to destruction. But because we care, we take the slings and arrows of 90% of the media and public to speak the truth. Hopefully with love and salt*.
The Bible states that homosexuality is behavioral, for Paul states that many of the new believers had been delivered from homosexuality in
1 Corinthians 6:9-11,
Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites... will inherit the kingdom of God. And SUCH WERE SOME OF YOU. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
If it were a genetic thing, then the Bible would not have shown that some were delivered. Your argument is with the Bible. If you do not believe the Bible, then your concern is moot. If you believe the Bible is the Word of God, then it states that you can be born again, transformed by the renewing of your mind, washed and cleansed.
* Salt is an expression that relates back to how the ancients dealt with infected wounds. They applied salt which cleansed and disinfected the wound. It would sting to high heaven, but it was necessary to save the life of the individual. The truth hurts, but the truth will also set you free--and in the end, save your eternal soul.

It's not a little book, It is the Word of God.
I am glad that you got lots of scriptures here because this question has been asked about once a week since I started YA. And I am a little tired of it.
You see there is a little logic trick that you can use. If something makes you ashamed it is usually a sin.

Romans 1:25-27 (New International Version)
25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
Luke 6:37-42 (New International Version)
Judging Others
37"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
39He also told them this parable: "Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? 40A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher.
41"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 42How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

Advice About Widows, Elders and Slaves
1Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brothers, 2older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity.
Yes, the Bible does not support homosexuality. God does not want us to judge others (whether it be adultery, homosexuality, abortions). Christians should rebuke sins, out of love; self-righteousness and judgmentalism is not loving.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10
What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, 10 nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom.
1 Timothy 1:8-11
8 Now we know that the Law is fine provided one handles it lawfully 9 in the knowledge of this fact, that law is promulgated, not for a righteous man, but for persons lawless and unruly, ungodly and sinners, lacking loving-kindness, and profane, murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, manslayers, 10 fornicators, men who lie with males, kidnappers, liars, false swearers, and whatever other thing is in opposition to the healthful teaching 11 according to the glorious good news of the happy God, with which I was entrusted.
