alot of the answers are right.
theres simply more risk and too much trouble with checkups if done in TJ
just look for an alternative around your area. you'll get through it

If you do it in TJ, you'll have to go back to have it adjusted every month. It should be cheaper but not sure how well it is. I'm here in the LA area and know a lot of ppl who go to TJ for cheaper dental work. But mostly for fillings and such. Some good work, some not so good (infections or having to have it redone). You can ask if your reg dentist takes payments. I paid mines off by paying $100 a month for a few years. Or there are dental credit cards. Some dentists offer it or your credit card provider might have it also. I know Citicards and Bank of America offers this. Good luck!

They are better and cheaper. Only problem, you know that monthly adjustment?? If you can't go to TJ to get that done, no one in the US know how to do that job, they can try, but they can mess up. Also, do not go to a shady place, go to a nice Dentist office in the nice part of town, not to where they announce that they will sell you anything without a prescription. Other things that are better in Mexico that in the US (tacos!!!) are tires. For some reason (*cough* screwed up roads *cough*) they last a hell of a long time in our freeway system, I got mines 3 years ago, and they will last me another year or so.

That's not a dumb question. Alot of people go to the doctor or buy their prescriptions in Mexico because medical services are alot cheaper. If you live near the border maybe your parents could take you down there and do some research on a good dentist there. A dentist in your town (if you are close) may even be able to recommend a good Mexican dentist.

Will cost you from 500 USD to 1000 USD, depending on how its your condition. I know a good dentist but in Rosarito ( 15 minutes from Tijuana, English spoken and have several US patients. You can Call her and ask her by phone. her name Dra Leticia Fernandez to call from the states 01152661-612-0517

HELLO,
IF YOU DON'T MIND MAKING TRIPS TO TIJUANA TO GET YOUR BRACES ADJUSTED ON A REGULAR BASIS, AND COSTS WITH THE TRIP THEN DO SO.
OTHERWISE, LOOK TO SEARS DENTAL WHERE YOU CAN BEGIN WITH A MONTHLY PAYENT OF ABOUT $100.
THIS WAY YOU CAN HAVE IT DONE HERE WHERE RESULTS ARE MORE FAVORABLE.

this isn't a stupid comment --- there is a much higher rate of infection in mexico, and also, you would have to go back several times for check-ups and adjustments
