There is a gel you can put on your gums, Ambesol, that really helps with the pain because it numbs your mouth...I used that when I got my braces tightened..you can get it at a local drug store like CVS or walgreens target.... otherwise up your ibuprofen dosage..its ok to take more than 2...you just can't have some for a while but it helps with the pain!

Hope this helps~!

Hey I remember how painful that was especially in the beginning. You will be ok.

There is really nothing you can do except Tylenol or Advil.

You are experiencing the pain because your braces are doing exactally as they should. They are moving your teeth.

I am sorry there is not another answer for you. If you are young, check w/ parents for Tylenol or Advil. The Advil will last longer than the Tylenol

Feel better soon

I would try taking 2 Tylenol, or Advil, or some sort of pain medicine. Being that I used to have braces, this worked for me, or at least a little bit. Also, try not to think about it so much; get preoccupied in something else like TV, a movie, or music.

I had braces as quickly as upon a time - basically handle it. all and sundry stories soreness each as quickly as and a on an identical time as and a splash soreness in no way harm every physique, haha. yet heavily, taking soreness relievers isn't a competent theory, yet because you have already got - do no longer take extra. basically stay with it, because of the fact for right here couple of years your going to flow by way of so plenty extra of it (with each and each month-to-month tightening & exchange).

Tylenol, Advil or Ibuprophen (spelling?) helps. And I use to stick to a soft diet for a few days. Like soup, yougurt, porriage, ice cream, jellow. It'll go away soon, hang in there. =)

Sorry, but there is nothing you can do. Just take the IBU and deal with it. As you stated the pain will eventully fade away.

Gin. Lots of it. Preferably Tanqueray. And chocolate milkshakes!

Seriously, I feel for you! I had braces for 5 years (and a variety of retainers after that). I dreaded having them tightened and cried myself to sleep more often than I care to remember. Can the orthodontist give you something that is effective but non-addictive?
