Request a private meeting with your commanding officer. You may need to be seen by the navy psychiatrist before they discharge you.

The difficulty in having a diagnosis (at least in the old military) of depression or anxiety due to stress is that if you were looked upon as being anything but strong and stable you were subject to discharge medically or even under "less than honorable" conditions. Your commmander couldn't do this on his own but he could recommend it. It don't know what the psychological situation is in the "new military".

Having said that I have qualified my ability to give you a good answer. I just want to warn you that either of these two kinds of separation are not looked on favorably by civilian employers and could effect your ability to function happily as a civilian. Be cautious in how you go about obtaining any separation from the military!

Good luck, good health, peace and love!

You need to get the doctor's recommendation you aren't getting it on your own. You need meds to balance out your life and if that is ongoing you might get a medical discharge but even the CO can't just give you a separation without a doctors order/verification.
