To everyone with negative comments let me go into more detail. I am already a Soldier who's father has 3 terminal illness' and a family who refuse to help me with taking care of him. I also have a 3 week old baby, and with all of that I am still trying to fight for my country. So before you respond with negative comments ask yourself why are you not in any branch of the military? I never said i do or do not support this war, but I do for damn sure support my country. So please respond only if you can help me with this topic.

To everyone who has been positive I thank you so much for trying to help me with my problem.

Talk to the re-up NCO, see if you can get choice of duty station.
Dont know what youre MOS is, but as long as its not under strengthed, you might be able to change it, or should at very least be able to demand duty station of choice.

And if that dont work, Hawaii's just a hopp and skip away.
Alaskas beautiful. Cold but nice place to stay.

Good luck, thanks for serving

If you are worried about your family then don't join the military. I got out of the army as soon as I found out I was pregnant, cause family is more important to me than anything. You should talk to my friend who's in Iraq and left her babygirl at home in Mississippi. Or my husband who's in Iraq and hasn't seen our kids in 7 months.

To answer your question, there's no specific MOS that only goes to California. There's like one army base in Cali and there are a variety of MOS's stationed there. Maybe you should ask a recruiter about getting your duty station of choice.

I would recommend that you take your career to the Air Force. They are the best payed branch of service now-a-days. But if you want to re-enlist in the Army I would contact a recruiter in the area for more information and confirmation on MOS Army Bases around your area.

You concern for family aside you are sounding like a whiny civilian, are you really a soldier? If yes you know better. There is no Active Army Base in CA except FT Irwin and that is Home to the 11th ACR or at least what was the 11th. Can you say Armored Cav.

There is no such thing as an MOS in any branch of the service that is primarily in any one location.

Note to Politically Wrong: There are recruiters everywhere. Most are NOT in CA.

31E Correctional Specialist, the only place women go in the Army if they are convicted and spend time in jail is in The Naval Brig in San Diego California (Miramar). You can be stationed at any prison in the Army system however.
