I have light brown hair (my mom tried to make dark blue hightlights on me but it turned green=I changed my hair back to a lighter brown. So anyway I want highlights now but my mom says highlights kinda damages your hair. Is there some hightlight color or something that won't damage my hair much??

Any lightening of the hair is going to explode the cuticle to lift the color up. It's bad for your hair but as long as you use a heavy duty conditioner like Biolage conditioning balm or Nexxus Humectress, you should still be able to maintain healthy hair even with highlights. I only use humectress once a week, I use pantene for the rest.

You can always do lowlights. They're healthier for your hair since they don't have as many chemicals.
