Christian men torment themselves all the time over this issue, which is a shame. The sexual repression levied by the various religions, which at the extreme entail mutilation of the body lest we feel pleasure, is really one of the worst affects it has on society.

To answer this correctly you need a correct definition of "Sin". Something is a sin if it blocks or corrupts your relationship with the Creator. So something can be a sin to you and not to another person. Some people are blinded by wealth and commit the sin of Greed, while others can deal with their wealth. If your excitement is blocking you from serving your divine purpose it is a sin, otherwise it isn't.
If I am overcome by sin I go to a quiet place and seek communion with the Holy Spirit through prayer and try to follow it's counsel.

Our bodies always do stupid things. Jesus told the truth when he said "The spirit is willing but the flesh is week". I am not a man but, I think it would help to just thank and praise God for being such an artist and absolutely admire his work but from a different point of view. Be in awe of his artistry. Then ponder on the cells in the body and how each system works --the digestive tract and everything. (it wouldn't take long of thinking about a stomach emptying into the colon to turn you off I think)

self control, one of the fruits of the Spirit found in the Bible. If you really are a Christian you wouldn't let your mind go astray at other women. You're married for goodness sake! You gave her a promise that you would stay true to her! How dare you try to find some technique to suppress your feelings for other women! You should be ashamed of yourself. You need to get right with God now. Ask Him for guidance and forgiveness. Only He can help you with everything.

It's a sin if you mentally lust for her. As a Christian man, I DO look at other women and think that the female human form is one of the most beautiful things God created and put on this Earth. HOWEVER, I continue on to think she is probably in no way as trusting, sensitive, caring, loving, and compassionate as my WIFE is! I'd rather sleep with my wife any night! Hey! we'll be married 17 years on this coming Saturday!

There is an old saying, "You can't stop a bird from flying over your head, but you can stop it from nesting in your hair". While there is nothing you can do to stop a hot woman from walking by, you don't have to take a snap shot in your mind of it and play it over and over until it causes "excitement". Christians make a decision not to allow themselves to have feed immoral thoughts.

Plus, it doesn't hurt that my wife is a current "beauty queen" title holder, and actors/model. Not bad considering she is a three time grandmother. When I see another woman I just remind myself that "mine" is prettier. It gets my mind back on the right person.

It is a sin, Jesus said that is was sinful to look upon a woman with lust in your heart. Mathew 5:28
I never thought about the second part too much since I am not a man. Don't they think of baseball statistics or something? :)

It doesn't really matter that you are married. The response is not a sin. However, when one entertains the thoughts or does even more such as flurting etc, then you are going into sin. No technique - Discipline is your defense. Pray, repent and ask for God's grace.

As my pastor says, asking a man not to notice a beautiful woman is like asking him not to notice a beautiful sunset. You can appreciate the beauty of a woman without lusting after her. If you find you are struggling with lust, the most effective way to deal with it is not to simply "turn your head", as some would say, but to redirect your thoughts. Instead of focusing on your carnal nature, think spiritually. Something along the lines of, "Wow, what a beautiful woman. I wonder if she knows Christ?" ..And then say a prayer for her in your mind. Like they say, you can't break one habit without substituting it with another habit. Also they say it takes 21 days to form a new habit. I hope this helps. God bless ya. :)

You could turn the channel.

Here's Jesus' take on the matter:

"I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell." Mat 5:28-30

The real is the heart. But until you're convinced it's probably not a good idea to lust, you're not going to change your heart.
