You should go to Education Services office for Navy. Not sure what they are called in other services. Make sure you ask for the right one, DLAB=Defense Linguistics Assessment Battery, DLPT=Defense Linguistics Proficiency Test. One tests ability to learn, the other tests your foreign language proficiency, and gets you college credit.

I took it with the military inside Camp Pendleton, CA. Just about any military base has an education center that can administer the test. Not just anyone can take it that way, though. If you want to take the DLAB for placement with an organization outside the military you should contact that organization directly and find out what other options there are. They can probably arrange for you to take the test at the closest military base.

You need to head to a recruiters office. They are the ones who will arrange the DLAB for you. When I took the DLAB I did it at the MEPS station.

Good luck! You will love DLI!!!
