And JUST where you think the oil in the drain is going to go after that clog clears??? IN THE WATER!!! Now, what my hubby does, is he takes the used oil, stores it out back of the garage, in a plastic 55 gal barrel, out of sight of the neighbors, so one complains, and when he gets it filled up, he makes some phone calls to various business, garages, junk yards, etc, soon enough he is able to sell it to some one for usually $100.00, spends $25.00 for another 55 gal barrel, and starts over... My hubby said that some garages will buy the used oil to burn in there waste oil furnace around where we live, and our winters are usually pretty rough... I sure hope this helps you...

Take the old oil to a garage that does oil changes and ask them if you can tip it into their holding tank. I doubt whether they would say no. NEVER NEVER dump it into water ways, down drains or sewers. You are doing unbelievable damage and causing yourself a great deal of problems.

I don't know what state you live in but in my state any store that sells motor oil is required to take the old moto oil for recycling same as they do car batteries and tires. Some states have recycling centers that will take used oil. Some service stations will, too.

When you drain the oil into a pain, get a funnel and pour it into an empty container - like a milk gallon. Then you can take it to your local automotive store and they will take and recycle it.

It is NEVER, NEVER safe to dump it anywhere!!!!!!

I take mine to the landfill. There is an area that takes recyclables, including a barrel for used motor oil. I recycle so much I seldom go to the landfill itself.

You're funny. How about using it as massage oil? Or as perfume? Dab a little behind your ear and you're ready for the night.
