I just bought Photoshop but i dont know how to make the pictures look cool

It's a complex program that takes a while to learn. I highly suggest getting a Photoshop for Dummies type book or checking online for some basic tutorials.

Filters are easy to use and they make the pictures look cool. They're under the "filter" tab in photoshop.
Also tutorialized.com is a good place to find photoshop tutorials

i spent a lot of time playing with pictures and trying all the options and tweaking all the options. you can't break anything by playing.
*If you don't want to loose your original image, just save it as something else in a different folder then mess it up really good.
there are a lot of great photoshop tutorials online, and the tutorials in the Help menu are informative
