It means for every bad thing that happens, there is an opportunity for not only something equally as great to come out of it, but something better, and the metaphore of the seeds probably is there to suggest it needs to be planted, or cultivated, but the subject in order for the benefit to 'grow'

Basically it means that with experience comes a knowledge that will make you a better person. You now know how to win a battle you once lost, how to accept/deal with that something won't happen, how to not stoop to someone elses level. In the end you gain wisdom that will help you in similar situations.

Sorry, this just sprung into my head when I was reading your question:
"To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong
To love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star"

It is an optimist's view of bad events. It is saying that each bad event has the potential of producing another event which is good. The good event will be equal to or greater in amount than the bad event.

What that says to me is:
"when things get bad, always look on the good times, cause eventually it'll get better in the long run."
Just like with my history of seizures & autism.
They were bad at first, but now it's better in the long run.
Hope that was helpful 2 ya,

A quote by C.S. Lewis came to mind after reading this quote. "Tribulations cannot cease until God either sees us remade or see that our remaking is now hopeless."
In other words, no matter what we come up against, God can use that to our good and it will reshape us in a way to help us withstand other things that will come our way.

every time something you think is bad happens, something good comes out of it. like, the guy that got the whole office donuts on 9/11? he thought it was a waste of time, but actually he avoided a terrorist attack. ey?
