Their leaders and high-ranking figures have virtually always been secular and left-wing. None that I can think off off-hand are religious. No doubt among the general population the majority consider themselves Muslims,but as I understand it,they are for the most part non-practicing. So as far as the battle for Palestine being a religious war,wouldn't that be primarily on the Jewish side of the issue? By which I mean their claim or belief that God promised them this land,God gave this land to me,etc. etc.

Not all Palestinians are Muslims. Some are Jewish and some are actually Christian.

Muslims come is all kinds, some are non practicing, some are moderates, some are extreme. The Palestinian-Israeli conflict, war, problem or whatever you choose to call it has nothing to do with religion. Its politics. Islam and Judiasm have a lot of similarities.

just cuz u saw a palestanian who wasnt religious doesnt mean that u can put a stearotype on all palestanians and not being religious, oh and by the way, if the person isnt religious in islam, he isnt considered a muslim
