My dog has had 3 litters and this last time she had only had 1 puppy. Is this a sign that she is all puppy'd out?

Well most likely if there are 2 intact dog in the house she is pregnant. How ever she may be too far along for abortion, and emergency spay. After she has the puppies and they are fully weaned, spay and neuter your dogs. Just a question: Why wernt both your dogs spayed at the age of 6 months??? Just want to know

Get her spayed TOMORROW! If you need to be asking this question here, you aren't a reputable breeder and you need to stop. A dog should have no more than 3 litters in her lifetime. She should NOT be bred past 5 years of age and that's only once she has gained an AKC Championship title and once she has been tested for all hereditary health problems.

You dog definitely sounds like she is no longer producing eggs that need to be fertilized to get pups. Take her to the vet and have her spayed unless you don't mind having only one pup at a time. Next time however, she may end up having more. You didn't say how old she was but if she were mine, I would have her spayed.

Breeding 3 litters in a row is VERY tough on the Mom and shouldn't be done. She needs a break! If you don't spay her now, give her at least one cycle off- but you've put her through enough, just spay her.

There's no excuse in the world for any dog to have this many litters. Unless of course, your goal in life is to become a puppy mill. Spay this poor dog!

You need to get her spayed. Bless her heart, she didn't need to have to go through all those years just poppin' out pups.

It is obvious that you are ignorant about canine breeding & you should not be allowed to breed unless your dog has a Pedigree & you are working on improving the breed by selective breeding practices. Which of course it doesn't sound like it.

You are a typical BYBer without the wits to even know it. BYBer's are the reason for the over population of dogs. Just pop 'em out, right & left, right? Pull in some extra cash & not give a damn about what you are doing.

Booo to you.

It is best for dogs to get spayed even before they go through heat at all. But the earlier you get it done, the better. The least amount of cycles a dog goes through actually keeps the chance of them developing cancer down. So not just for the sake of keeping the puppy population down, get her spayed for her healths sake.

NONE.There are no health benefits to any dog having a litter and check out some of the shelters on Petfinder. Those dogs you see there are the "avilable dogs" you don't get to see the unavailable dogs because they're already euthanised and in the freezer. No need to add to the pet overpopulation.

None!
Haven't you been listening to Bob Barker for the last 20 some odd years, about having your pets spayed or neutered?

I personally think that they shouldn't have any litters. I know they are adorable but the US (the world too most likely) doesn't need more animals. The amount put down is already too high. Please get her spayed as soon as you can.
