I've been feeling fatigued for about a year now. I am 5'2 and weigh close to 170 so I figured I needed to lose some weight and start exercising more and I would feel better. However I am the world's worst dieter and I haven't lost any weight or began to exercise. For about the past week I've begun to feel so tired I can barely do the things I usually do. No matter how much sleep I get at night I am always tired. I have also begun to feel sick in the middle of meals and whenever I have a cigarette. I am also experiencing light-headedness, but nothing too extreme that I have to lie down or sit down. I also had some chest pains, nothing too painful though, just a slight pain here and there that lasted about 30 seconds. I feel like I have a cold but without the sore throat, cough and runny nose. I feel like absolute crap. I did a home pregnancy test and it came out negative. What could be wrong with me?? Help!!

Sounds strange but you could be developing an allergy to cigarettes. It happened to my mother after 22 years of smoking, now she can't get near a lit cigarette or she gets violently ill.

As far as the being exhausted, have you had your thyroid checked?

And for the symptoms as a whole, it sounds very much like your body is not getting sufficient oxygen. When was the last time you had you pulse ox checked?
Also it sounds like it could be early symptoms of a blood clot. How's your blood pressure? Have it checked out right away.

Go see a doctor please. I don't know what else it could be, but I'm sure there are tons more possibilities.

I live in Canada, Ontario and so as far as the insurence and Dr.'s work I don't know. My husband had those very same symptoms for a month before I made him go to the Dr. and it turned out it was nothing more than anxiety. You do sound like you have alot of stress. I on the other hand didn't have half your symptoms, only the tingling in my left arm and my hand went numb, fatigue, light headedness and pain in my chest and I had a mild heart attack at 25 years old. The health care in the states is something I can hardly comprehend but I would get checked to make sure. My blood pressure and so on was ok. It was caused be stress and better safe than sorry, there are some heart attacks that people don't come back from. Good luck and I truly hope you feel better=)

You may be working out to much and not eating enough...that will cause the nausea and light headiness. Chest pain may be from tight muscles. You may want to have blood work done....a friend of mine was just diagnosed for lung cancer at 33 so watch the smoking as well.

being overweight can cause sleep apnea which would explain your being so tired. the pains could just be due to the fact that you're out of shape. i'd get a physical asap.i don't have a clue as to the lightheadedness but, why play with fire? see the doc and start taking care of yourself.

Could be a chest cold or lung problem if you smoke. You need to get it checked. Remember women normally experience indigestion like symptoms w/ heart attacks/ heart disease. Get it checked.

Go to the doctor, those could be signs of a thyroid disorder, or high blood pressure. Good luck!

Alot of things could be wrong. I think because you are having trouble dieting, that it could be your thyroid gland. It causes symptoms like you are describing. It is not serious, and can be fixed with medicine. Please see your doctor.
