Sin is an archery term. It means to miss the mark. As human beings as christians we all "miss the mark" the bulls eye. WE ask for forgiveness and aim toward it the next time, of course we miss, so we ask for forgiviness and aim toward it again. This is the nature of being human. The inability to ''hit" the bulls-eye. What separates christians from many others is that we ask for for forgiviness and aim toward the bulls-eye to the best of our ability. It's not that we are better than others it's that we have not given up aimming toward the bulls-eye. We do not or should not judge others for missing the mark, however it is frustrating when I see people not aiming for the bulls-eye. Dictitorial or not God is God In Matt 25 31 (The goats and the sheep) He tells us clearly how we are to aim, knowing full well that we will miss the mark, but our aim must be true. And somtimes if we walk with Him we have days wher we hit the bulls-eye, but we can't take credit even for that. If you want to play fast and lose and lobby God at the end, "but God that's dictitorial", well that is a very human and worldy way to look at things, and good look to you. I wouldn't judge God by Human standards though. The word dictitorial. Just by your ability to write it indicates that He is not dictitorial. He has given you free well. Being God, He could have "dictated" that you worship Him, and accept His Son and his teaching. But He he did not dicate. In the end it is we who condem oursleves ... were we truly aimming for the bulls-eye.

Sin is described in the ten commandments in exodus and the only way you get to Heaven is by recieving the Lord Jesus Christ as your saviour. Once you are saved you are going to heaven and nothing or no one can take your salvation away!

Sin is a transgression against God. You only go to Hell if you reject Christ's sacrifice on the cross.

Sin is defined as action contrary to the will of god. But since god is a fictional concept, sin is also.
