because he's my dad

He wouldn't want me to put him on a pedestal because sometimes he did the best that he could do and sometimes it didn't mount up to much. But. if you talk about everyday guys who made sure that his children felt safe, confident and not afraid to work, then, I think I have your guy, Naah, he wouldn't want that either. He did his job and he had his children for his own pleasure, not for the rewards we were suppose to pay. All I know is that Dad was there, sometimes he had some good advice, sometimes the advice was messed up. Sometimes, he could cook a great steak and other times the food was so spicy it would melt the paint off the plates.
My dad shouldn't be the best in the world, he was human, and he made mistakes, and he made good investments, as well a good impressions. He'd make us laugh and he'd make us cry. He taught us how to be strong and that our weaknesses lived on the other side of the same leaf. He taught us to get strong enough to get over all sorts of things and if that didn't work throw away your pride get on your belly and climb under it. My dad taught me that I should rather be a woman than a lady and the reasons gave me a sense of freedom forever.
I don't think he needs to be the best dad in the world, because he has already conquered my world.

Not to stray from your question, but my Dad has been dead for 14 years now, and looking back, I loved him, but there are just so many other issues involving him until I never thought of him as the best Dad in the world, that was left for everyone else's Dad. All the rest of you are so lucky to have the best Dads in the world. God Bless.

my dad should be the best dad in the world for one really big reason, the most immportant thing my dad ever wants me yo be is happy. he raised me with a good set of vaules and trusts me to do the right. i think my dad almost never spanked me , and i can only remember one fight we have ever had. AND no my dad did not just roll over and let me do what ever i wanted. my dad told me ever single day as a child that he loved me and he always put me first. Now that i am an adult whenever i make a big choice he supports me as long as he knows that i am happy. I have a son now and my dad is the greatest grandparent ever. i only hope i can be half the parent my father is.

My dad is kind, supportive, helpful, strict, and he would stick up for anyone in the world if he knew they were good people. he is extremely nice and he loves listening to music. he does not look down on you because you are goth, or homosexual, or any other kind. He is willing to try new stuff, and he really likes enjoying all the "kid's" games with children. He is the man who gave birth to me so naturally, he would be the best dad in the world.

my dad is FAR from being the best dad in the world.
he beat my mother.
he beat my mother while she was pregnant with me (now i have seizures)
everything he's ever told me is a lie
always making empty promises
wasn't even around until i was 13
when me and my bro were teenagers, he found out bro was having sex, said "i'm so proud, make sure you dont just have sex with one girl, you need to spread the love"
found out i was, slapped me, called me a whore and a b*tch and a sl*t and said i was crazy just like my mother and i deserve to live on the street like the trash i am.

Because he has done everything for me. Worked all his life to support me and my mom, and even though he could retire now he's still working so him and my mom will be OK as they get older, and still have something to give to me. He's there when I need him, and He's honest when he doesn't agree with my choices. I love him so much, and I'm lucky to have him. All these things he didn't have to do b/c I was adopted. He choose me. :0)
