I have entertained the thought. If this is the case, when can I make the ride stop. Is lying in the grave for all eternity without being aware of the fact that you are gone so bad? Isn't it worse to keep coming back to an ever worsening world?

Not strictly because of de-ja-vu. De ja vu is only something that seems to support reincarnation. There are many other reasons people believe in reincarnation.

deja-vu is actually more closely related to the concept of 'remembering the future' and the correlation between previous dreams and future events rather than past ones.

however, touching upon reincarnation, there have been many reports of children who are born with memories of previous lives.

check out the link, its actually a very cool concept.
