And their therapist reads it, is there a possibility that the person may end up in the hospital again, if the therapist doesn't like what is written?

it's not a matter of what the therapist likes or not it is a matter of law. as long as the journal doesnt show you to be a danger to seriously harm yourself or someone else and doesnt report any child abuse, it is protected under confidentiality. you'll only end up in the hoospital if youre deemed homicidal or suicidal.

I for one write to express myself often because writing is easier than speaking. It gives you time to think of what you,re saying and writing comes mostly from the heart instead of the mouth. I would assume that a therapist would encourage this type of communication because it does bring out the inner self and shows where you are at mentally and emotionally. If this type of communicating with a therapist is offensive to them, I would suggest that they see a therapist themselves.

I guess it depends... you can't expect a person to be let free if their doctor believes they have a reason why they shouldn't be (e.g. self harm, violence towards others etc)... but otherwise no.

Remember you do have patient / doctor confidentiality, and don't show them what you wrote if you don't want to. If you do know it's in your best interests however, you should.

A bit of a tricky one! I guess it depends on why you're there in the first place..

Nope, so long as your not hurting anybody then the therapist can't do anything to you!

if the doc thinks it is threatening, such as suicide or harming another, then, maybe.
