I just spoke with H&R Block who always does our taxes cause we got a thing in the mail saying that we owed some money because our child tax credit is wrong from 2005???? I was told by the lady at H&R Block that alot of people are getting things like this from the IRS right now so I was wondering how many other people have got these cause the lady at H&R Block said they were booked up for a while cause of this.

A glitch at the IRS has gotten hundreds of thousands of these sent out. Write a letter to your congressman and senator asking that they cut funding to the IRS and make them do away with this sort of thing.

This is the time of the year when all of the notices come out from the IRS, due in part to the fact that the "regular tax season" is over. There was nothing about the 2005 Child Tax Credit that would have increased those notices unless H&R Block had some sort of problem in their system.

Not me, but you better call the 1-800 number for the IRS to ask them what was wrong with yours, that is the only way you can verify if they need to speak with you.

It sounds like H&R Block screwed up. Next year, go to Jackson & Hewett. They offer insurance for this kind of problem so that you don't have to pay the increase in taxes. However, at this point, just make sure H&R block does not charge you for the time and forms to correct this problem.
