Fortunately my kids are both boys, but the last thing I want to do is 'scar' them for life. I'll keep some sweat shorts near by to slip on

I have a 2 year old and an almost 4 year old. My husband and I sleep in the nude...and sometimes they even shower with us. We keep the door closed/locked when mommy daddy things take place, but I do not fear my children coming to our room in the middle of the night. We have cameras in their room....so I kinda know they are coming. We wake up when one of them hits the bed...we cuddle with them for a second and then escort them back to their room. If has never been an issue.

My husband and I both sleep naked but we lock our door at night and he keeps pants on the bed or night stand and i keep a robe at the foot of the bed. Me and my hubby have never had a problem with the kids knocking on the door or sleeping in there beds, when they were like 3 theyd run in wed be shocked and almost stop sleeping comfortably. We decided against it and instead we enforced the rules. They are 3 and 7, meaning old enough to understand they need to knock on the door. Get them night lights and put two twin beds in one room so they wont be alone.

I have a 13 year old daughter who has always come in in the morning just to say good morning. I have always instilled in my daughter that she has her own bed & only allowed her to sleep in my bed if she was sick or scared which is not often. You are right, you have a right to sleep naked or fully clothed if you so wished, and your wife should respect this, just as you hopefully respect hers. This is your intimate place of rest, and your wife should be looking for ways to keep them in their own beds at night. Perhaps its your wife that's avoiding intimacy and using the children as a source of comfort! And I can't imagine you scarring your children for life for just being naked. It would be completely different if the situation was sexual (which your wife obviously seems to think is the case) and was acting inappropriately, but if this is not so, then your wife needs to use her common sense and respond appropriately to the situation. If anyone scars the children over your nakedness, it is likely to be your wife.

This is bigger than sleeping naked....What kind of intimate life are you having if your kids come as they please?
The 3 year old does so because the 7 year old does it. You need to sit them down (along with your wife) and express before bedtime, that it is not acceptable behavior. If you do not show a united front, they will contuine to punk you at bedtime. You should teach the concept that when the door is shut it is mommy/daddy time. When it is open, they may come in. Period.
Basically right now, you kids are running your house. When they are 10 & 14, will it still be acceptable? Of course not!
If they can have there way with this, what else can they push the limit on? Are they staying up until they past out or are they set on bedtime limits?
Nevertheless, now is the time to "train" them not to do so. When they come in, you say, "You need to return to your bed." In a firm voice. If they start crying, (which they will in the beginning) you should escort them back to their room. Explain the open/closed door policy and return to bed. Do this for 3 nights. On the 4th night, do not explain the policy. Say good night. And contuine to do so until they sleep in their rooms.
Regardless of how tired you are, you need to escort them back to their rooms. The one night you decide it is not worth the fight, you have lost the battle and will basically have to start over.
Sweet dreams...

I believe it is in no way a good idea to sleep naked when you have children crawling into your bed. Either you figure out a way to talk them into staying in their own bed or you give up on being naked. That kind of thing and scar a child for life.

no, i think that if you want to sleep naked then you need to start shutting your door or wait until they stay in bed when they are older. It is not appropriate for them to see you naked. And you both should be enforcing the rules of them staying in bed. Maybe see if a reward at the end of the week might work if they both stay in bed through the week.

I can see your wife's point, but I too can't stand sleeping anything but naked! Just make do with your underwear on untill you sort the kids out. If you can get them to sleep in their own bed then it won't be an issue anymore!

Let me say this... Imagine your 7 years old and had a bad dream so you climb into your parents bed looking for comfort, but find something else. It is deffinatly not ok unless your kids are gone, even then it a litte sketchy because the next night they will be.Seriously what will a pair of boxers hurt?

Whats wrong with sleeping in a pair of boxers or sleep shorts? Until you teach your children how to stay in their own beds unless they are sick you should wear something!

Yeah it's probably not a good idea, i mean i know you probably enjoy sleeping naked...but your kids are at the age where they can go around saying I saw daddys pee-pee and someone who is overly concerned my report you...even if it is harmless!!
