I recall all the craze over Alice Cooper and then Marilyn Manson. Parents were frantic because they believed these artists were targeting their kids and corrupting their minds. I am really tempted to believe that it was not really about the actual corruption of their children's minds so much as it was the trend of dark make-up. Marilyn Manson actually has some very intelligent things to say if you take the time to listen. Not only that but he encourages people to think for themselves rather than believe what he says. That should be a give away that he is not corrupting people with his beliefs.

This guy is so extreme in his religious ideas that he has put together a national tour where he preaches his beliefs to teenagers. He openly admits that he wants them to believe and act a certain way. He has created his own brainwashing camp in Texas. He boasts that he is creating an army of Christian teens to fight MTV & others...

Tom, how is this a ridiculous comparison? The comparison is on the basis of corrupting youth. Christians do not like popular rock singers because children are attracted to them and the trends they set. And Ron Luce is not just "a preacher" he is a mass manipulator with a brainwashing camp. Sorry, but you'll need to explain yourself on this one. You are definitely making no sense.

Yes, and by "army" it's not a verbal joke... he uses the very mediums that most Christians denounce as un-Christian-like (rhythmic beats and half naked girls... NO lie), while denouncing media sources like MTV, to whip them into a frenzy of barely veiled hate and are actually trying to declare "war" on anything they disagree with. This is no joke, these kids are really getting brainwashed and militant about their beliefs... they're definitely a group capable of causing great harm/suffering. Give me Rammstein anyday over that mess... music is what you make of it.

Materialism is corrupting our youth. Parents leave their children alone most of the time so they could make more and more money. The children are raised by themselves and just take wherever appears in front of them as their truth.
Artists and religion groups just express their ideas., they would not have a chance to corrupt our youth if our children had someone to guide them until they get to be adults.

if children have a solid back round, then i don't think music or TV can corrupt them. seeing as most kids don't have that i can see why they lean towards a musician or actor.... if i parent has enough sense to say hey i don't like where my kid is headed then they should have enough sense to talk to them and lead them the right way...i think its a cop out to blame anyone other than themselves for their child upbringing.if i didnt like something my underage child was doing i would put a stop to it or understand why they were doing it. if i could not get through i would seek outside help...its called loving your child
you know it gets me to thinking why are these parents allowing these kids to be brainwashed by a grown man? where are they? i would never stop my kids from being religous by you can bet i would know what they were learning

You aren't seriously comparing a preacher with Marilyn Manson, are you? Has hatred of Christianity made you completely blind? Can you not see the ridiculousness of the comparison?
Incidentally, in a free market economy, Marilyn Manson would have no voice at all if there were no demand for his product. Since people buy, he has something to say, which is indicative that he is not the problem.

to me anyone or anything that tells someone how to think, act, behave etc is corrupting our youth.
please use common sense, i am not advocating violence or any such thing, those with a good mind should understand.
