It is hard to say....the Drill Sergeant or TI as the Air Force calls it may have taken phone priveleges away from the flight...I was in USAF Basic in 91...when one does something wrong all get punished...and BMT for us back then was only a day long...so I dont know what it is now it may have increased due to war...BUT it may be he as you have alluded has gotten himself into trouble and may not be able to use the phone OR the military has a great way of making a small detail into a Mountain and he may be feeling ashamed or embarrassed especially if hes been recycled put back in a younger flight to redo some training than that may be the answer to your question. But I wouldnt worry...you should hear from him soon...its not always feesible to get to a phone...and if you are with him and choose to stay with him...get used to this...this is the way it will be sometimes...especially in Iraq or Afghanistan...you cant always get to a phone or they dont have one and they dont have a computer for emails either...best of luck you have chosen a hard relationship but its one that has many rewards as well and I am sure he appreciates you standing by his side through this tough time...

There is also the chance that he just gave up on the phone lines! There were times that hubby (at the time BF) didn't call because the wait was too long or the TI called a time limit.
As someone else said, get used to it! Sometimes the calls come easily, other times... not so much. DH has been places he hasn't been able to call from, or we've been able to say Hi, I love you and then hang up. Such is the life of the military!

Honey, you are damn lucky he's even called you this much. When my husband was in basic three years ago, he called ONCE. The "camp-out" week you talking about is warrior week and that's around week 6 or 7.

Gosh, when my hubby was in boot camp three years ago, they were not allowed to use the phone at all except for one thirty second call to tell their family they arrived there. I knew AF basic was easier than the Navy's but sheesh!

Romance1 has it right. He probably had phone priviledges taken away because of something he did or something someone in his flight did.
He's lucky; when I went through Navy boot I only got to call home twice.

No he probably got to go into San Antonio for some fun. Its Sunday, and that's the only real free day they get. I was in basic in 1978 and we were allowed to make calls on Sunday.

if one guy screws up, every body pays the price. Phone calls must be earned. he probably didn't earn one this week.
