I really wonder how many people would still say some of the horrible things they have said on here if they knew everyone could really see who they were and not some cartooned impression?
That being said, I am not inclined to show my real pic simply because there are creeps on the internet.
Nevertheless, I think I will ask myself from time to time, "Would I really be typing this if I had my real picture posted along side it?"

Glitter: I think sarcasm and silliness are usually acceptable, depending upon the context of course, but I am referring to the hateful and mean spirited rants that are aimed at merely insulting or slandering or hurting others.

Oh, and please don't take me wrong. I am not suggesting that I have been a perfect Saint on here. My feathers are quite easily ruffled. I have to try really hard sometimes to not type what I am really thinking.

Would it really be safe for anybody to do that, as you say too many creeps... I can't have an email contact because of the abusive mail that comes down.
Don't you think most people would use a false photo anyway.

I try to be a good person all the time...though at times I get angry at some of the questions I read that displays bigotry. It would not matter if my real picture was displayed. I would still act the same.

No not me. I am not like some of the other people out here. With me you get what you see, I'm noting going to change my personality just to BS someone or to impress some HOTTIE.
I'll admit sometmes I may give a smart butt answer, but like someone once said, No harm, No foul.

I say the same things on here that I would in real life.
I share me views, listen and learn about yours and accept that we are different. It does however sometimes get under my skin when I am told that I am not a good person for having beliefs that are not understood by all..I am sure you can relate.

no i would say everything the same.
i wont mention any names but one poster here in this forum gave me a really hard time because my name is in Arabic. he said it is disrespectful. i told him that my name in Arabic describs who i am. my picture describes who i am. and that if others don't know what it means they ask me. he never once asked me what it ment. he bashed me instead. if i had a real picture i would still be covered and my name would still be in Arabic. that is who i am and this is the point of having anything there at all. to tell the people about yourself. when u see my avatar you see Arabic and you see a woman covered as a Muslim. so ur able to put it together, this brother went stupid on me.

I tend to think people would. I think even more so if they had to use their real names. I never understood the need for silly Internet ID's and made up names.
I am Thomas G here and Thomas Gillen in real life what the heck is the need to hide that.

good point.
but i think everyone should try to be nice more often.
however it is not just on yahoo answers. It is our new technology advanced society. Emails, text messages. IM's. It just lets people be more mean and hateful cause it is so instant that people can say stuff instantly without having a chance to think about it and once you hit send you can't take it back!!

I use my real picture. I'm not really worried, because I'm usually pretty nice, despite my typically smartarse responses. Besides--the picture sizes here are too small to see clearly anyway.

Good point!
But just let those agitated people shout whatever they like. We can just ignore those nasty things.
I think, to some extend, maybe we all want privacy, thus we use a "fake" face. But people tend to abuse this privilege = )

No too many people would be frightened by my picture to even read what I have said. Besides I try to be respectful as it is.
