Since it is something my friends are into and I have had a try myself, and there is definitely some energy I can feel, but can't explain. So I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on qi, I am undecided and unsure whether I should dedicate some time to this

You don't have to believe in gods/goddesses to derive benefit from such things. There's a reason they've been around for a LONG time, you're discovering the reason... do what works best for you.

I enjoy internal qi gong because of the breathing exercises. I have asthma, so I find it very stimulating. In kung fu we use some external qi gong exercises that can be pretty intense, but help with conditioning and strength. I think it's a great work out. I don't attribute anything esoteric to it, though I have trained with people who do. Just look at it as a new exercise routine with some martial application thrown in.

Tai Chi is an excellent exercise and is also a real martial art form.
I would not get to excited about mythical magical spiritual forces. Most of that energy you feel is just the normal endorfin rush from working out.

Yes. The energy you feel is simply a trick in your mind to get the body to do what you want. Science has proven that their are electro magnetic channels in the body that "somewhat" correspond to qi lines from old diagrams.

Qi does not exist. Endorphins do exist. Enjoy them.

I've never done tai chi, but I've done both Aikido and Taekwondo. I like both, but I like Aikido slightly more.

No I don't.

However I believe some people do feel better for doing it.

Doesn't prove there is a god though.
