In the invitation it was specified: "No boxed gifts, please". The wedding is in Montreal, QC, Canada

OMG...I cant even BELIEVE they put that on the invitation. Give what ever you can afford if you want to give at all. After that I most certainly wouldnt.

How close are you to the bride and groom? If they're family, give at least $300-$500. If they're friends, give $250, and if they're distant relatives or acquaintances, give $100.

BTW - that was tacky about the mention of the gifts on the invite, They must be Napolitan - Sicilians would NEVER do that! LOL (j/k about the last part!!!)

You aren't obligated to give a gift, although Vito Corleone will probably show up and take you for a ride.

wow, can't believe they put that on there. guess you'll have to spring for the fancy gift BAG!

i'd say no less than $100 U.S. dollars is standard no matter the heritage of the couple.
