Buying carbon credits is like buying a pet rock. They don't really do anything and world will still be full of rocks.

Buying carbon credits to make up for your excessive use of energy is sort of like donating money to a women's shelter after cheating on your wife.

No not indulgences they're what we call a "scam". But Al Gore is a smart man to invent the business and sell it to all of the losers who believe in it. Clever guy!

They're a free market way of getting greenhouse gas reductions at the lowest possible cost to society. A good thing.
