Do a little research on the other company....have people advanced at the other company? Are you sure it's not just promise of potential? This is always a tough one. If you already love your job and risk taking a pay cut along with only a possibility of advancement--I would stay where you are at. I think maybe the environment is what is luring you because you feel stagnant. Now is the time to check with your boss on what new things can come your way. It's a great way to let them know of your potential and remind them of why they hired you...because you are great!

You need to put a list together of the pro's and con's for both jobs. Take a look at your job now compared to the job that is out there. Look to see whats important to you. You need to look out for yourself and where you want to go in life.

The biggest part of a job is doing what you enjoy, if you do not enjoy what you do, then you will end up hating your job. Do what you enjoy it makes it less of a job, and more of a life

Id consider, the benefits of each job, the distance (especially with the price of gas) the pay... and how much I enjoy each job.
