At this age, I would just talk about the funny parts of your story. I wouldn't worry about the emotions or great details. Save that for when your son is older and can appreciate it more.
However, I strongly suggest that you pick up a blank journal and write down as much as you can remember. Details, emotions, everything. And then save it for your son for when he's a teen or a young man. I bet he will really appreciate that then!

Just be sure to mention your emotions, but make sure it's not too indepth. Don't tell him more than he needs to know, especially since he'll be reading it long before he's 18 most likely.
Read it back through when you are done, trying to judge it like a rated G movie. If it doesn't pass, edit it.

Type it on the computer and use spell check.
It really is a great Idea. Although a 4 year old will have no concept just yet.

I really see no need to do this at this age. If he is asking you questions, which I doubt at 4, then talk to him about it giving the short version not the details!
