what will happen if the bore is not chrome lined? And how does it compare to other AK that have a chrome bore?

Most guns are not chrome lined anyway, only some SKSs and AKs.

Not having the chrome makes it *somewhat* less durable to shooting and a lot less durable to corrosion.

All you need to do is do a quick bore clean and then use a protective oil.

I swab out with Windex right after shooting to remove salts from that Commie ammo, then put some Breakfree CLP on my boresnake and pull it through.

You really should do this to any gun you shoot...chrome or not.

There is no such thing as a bad AK. If you shoot corrosive ammo just pour some water through it and run an oil soaked patch through it to prevent any corrosion.

Depends on how religious you are about cleaning your gun and what kind of ammo you use.

Cheap russian ammo (such as Wolf or Brown Bear) uses a pretty corrosive powder. I clean mine after I shoot.

I may go through 100 rounds in an afternoon of ripping paper. I take it home, clean it up, lub it and put in the safe.

When Shooting military surplus, be sure to give your rifle a very thorough cleaning because of the corrosive nature of older ammunition.
