I think, that because God knows what is in our hearts, minds, and souls HE truly knows what we can physically and mentally handle.
Because of this, He won't put anything in our path that we are not capable of handle. But we may have to seek help from outside sources and ask for help from other people, but in the end - we will get through the situation.

It's a paraphrase of the passage in Paul's first letter to the Corinthian church that says, "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." (1 Cor 10:13).
The idea here is that troubles and difficulties happen to everyone. Christians are not protected from these sorts of things. But God knows what we are able to cope with, and he will help us handle whatever comes along.
Whether you believe that or not is your call. But that's where the saying comes from and the meaning of it.

Yes, you are right. The story of Adam and Eve shows us clearly that God didn't want us to have free will (the ability to choose between good and evil). It is the snake that told Eve that she could take that fruit and eat it. Therefore Adam and Eve did not deserve to be punished. God set them up. Adam and Eve were innocent. God is the guilty one. Anyone who reads the Bible with an open mind will see this.

it amazes me how people try to make sense of things involving God when they themselves do not know HIM. (this is directed to some answers people gave that are ridiculous at best) The meaning is that God is our creator (if you choose to beleive that) because he is our creator, he knows use better than we know ourselves. an example would be you saying that if you have 10 million dollars, you would be set for life. If God saw you fit to handle 10 million dollars (again you have to believe he knows you better than you do) then he can make it happen. But if you get that 10 million and blow it in 3 yrs, and are now broke like alot of lottery winners are, then you obviously had more than you could hadle. God would never do that too you! does that make any sense??

When we are ready God will give us what we are ready for emotionally or mentally.
This is for growth and learning. It is information and people in our lives that can teach us.
God does not send trial and tribulations.
God does send messengers and circumstances to learn and otherwise gain from.
God does not send pain. Our reactions determine growth or pain.
Pain is resistance to change or growth.
God will only send or allow what we can deal with at any given moment.
If you belong to God - I may add.
Peace -C

Just what it says.He won't give you more than your emotions can handle.Whatever life throws at you he is always with you.And he isn't going to have something happen in your life that you won't be able to get through without him.He knows your strengths and weakness.Knows you inside and out. There is another saying. If he sees you to it, he will see you through it.They speak volumes on their own.

I think he does. He gives us more than what we can handle without him. Sometimes he brings us low because then that is the only time we go to him. Remember the Prodigal Son?

God knows us BETTER than we know our selves. we may think that no one knows us better than we know us. but this isn't the true. God knows us. He know what will break us, make us trip and fall, and He knows what makes us stronger. so He never gives us more than we can handle.
God knows best
